BIOGRAPHY

Authenticity has always ruled her life. Freedom made it unpredictable.

Caroline Bergonzi is an artist issue of a long lineage Monaco family, with ancestors in Cremona Italy, violinmakers at the time of Stradivarius. Initiated to various art disciplines by her grandfather, she grew up under the blue Mediterranean sky. Her mentor passed when she was 13 and, as attached to Monaco as she was, she left at 17. She felt compelled to explore the world and spent years in anonymous big cities. She started in Paris, where she studied management and acquired the tools necessary to obtain her freedom. In parallel to various challenges she met, she was active and blossomed in such creatively diverse environments as video games and Parisian Haute Couture. Some exams and missions later, especially in China and Italy, she chose New York as her new home, for its human masses, its rhythms, and its mosaic of cultures. The brutal reality of this new urban and mental environment encouraged her to a deep empiric immersion in philosophy, psychology, and spirituality.

She dedicated her life to her work, and her work inspires. Being true to her instincts paid off. The originality of her self-taught solitary itinerary and the quality of her work has brought her art to numerous exhibitions and public art installations (including two monumental public art sculptures in New York) to the World Expo in Shanghai, and even to talk at the United Nations and the UNESCO, in Paris. Her creations have been chronicled by the press and TV (New York Times, Wall Street Journal, BFM TV, NY1 TV...). From one medium to the next, she leads a perpetual creative exploration and her developments extended beyond paintings and sculpting, into a line of art jewelry and a 400-page art book on the creative process. She fluently speaks French, English and Italian, and her passion for communication extended to studying neuro-linguistics.

In 2021, the US travel ban kept her from her Manhattan Studio, and she contributed to the launch, in Monaco, of the first Sotheby’s direct sales gallery in Europe. In 2022, she decided to bring her career and experience to the Principality and contribute to making Monaco an always stronger artistic center. She then registered her activity of Art Consultant, to combine her skills and offer her services. She now shares her time between Monaco, New York, and places where her exhibitions take her.
