Science meets spirituality in Caroline Bergonzi’s mind. She thinks in terms of flows, movements, actions and reactions. To her, the soul, an abstract and primordial element, is always journeying, always evolving, and always in flux. It is what we see when we meditate: everything and nothing simultaneously. What is within us is also outside us. Her Mandalas paintings were done while in a meditative state, as the work was repetitive and required extreme patience. Doing the work induced the state that was most conducive to realizing it. As the work evolved, so did Caroline Bergonzi.
