As travelers, we sometimes meet allies as well as demons, and both teach us much about ourselves. Perspective and clarity allow us to see the path, but keep us from feeling fully alive. There is an emphasis on form and movement, and the relationship between extremes of light and shadow. Bergonzi often uses polyptych paintings to depict successive phases in relationships, which mirror cycles in nature.
